Transitional Support for Military Families
Support for Military Families Transitioning Into the Olde Creek Community
Olde Creek has been recognized by the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) and the Virginia Council on the Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for Military Children as a 2024 Purple Star School.
The Purple Star Designation is awarded to military-friendly schools that have demonstrated their commitment to meeting the needs of military-connected students and their families.
Military Family Point of Contact
Olde Creek is proud to provide specialized support for military families. Our designated point of contact for military families is Maggie Seneca, school social worker. Mrs. Seneca works to build relationships with families and assists military-connected students with the unique challenges that these students experience.
Student Ambassador Program
Our student ambassador program connects new Olde Creek students with student leaders with a deep knowledge of the school and community. New students will be connected with these ambassadors to welcome them, show them around the school, and assist them in building new relationships. Mrs. Seneca, school social worker, is the point of contact for questions about this program.
Department of Defense School Liaison Officers
The Department of Defense (DoD) provides School Liaison Officers as points of contact between DoD and the local school division. School Liaison Officers are the primary point of contact for school-related matters and assist military families with school issues. More information on this program is available through the Department of Defense Education Activity.
